CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
FOR BIRTH – 5TH GRADE
Alisa began her role as Director of Ministry to Children on April 15, 2025.
Alisa and her family began attending BBC in 2021 when they moved to Minnesota from Iowa. She and her husband, Marcus, have been married for 15 years and have three school-aged children. Alisa has a heart for children and is passionate about raising up the next generation of believers. Her goal, through children’s ministry, is to help kids develop a strong foundation of truth on which they can build their faith as they grow. Alisa is also a familiar face in the Becker schools, serving as a substitute teacher as her schedule allows.

Programming & Teaching on Sundays
Nursery | AWANA/Sunday School (during the school year) | Kids Church
Nursery (Infants & Toddlers)
Runs throughout the year during Sunday morning service at 10:30AM
In our nursery, caregivers lead children ages birth–3 years in age-appropriate activities, including play time, God-centered stories, songs, and verses. Each session in the nursery includes prayer for each child by name, and a simple snack is provided for children over 12 months..
Nursery care is available during:
- Sunday Morning AWANA (register for AWANA “Puggles”)
- Sunday Worship Service
- Some special events
We also take safety, security, and wellness to heart to give you the confidence that your little one is in good hands. Parents check in at a kiosk upon arrival to print a security and nametag for each child.
Children’s Church
Age 4 through 2nd grade
Children will join their parents for opening worship in the sanctuary before they are dismissed to go downstairs for Children’s Church. Our Children’s Church lessons use the Go! curriculum which takes us through the Bible chronologically and shows how God is at the center of every story. *The 1st Sunday of each month is Family Sunday when families worship together in the sanctuary for the entire service. Nursery is available for children aged 0-3 every Sunday.

A picture says a thousand words! Unfortunately, our story pictures are all covered up. But not for long! Bit by bit, kids will sneak-a-peek at the picture until they can guess what it is. As the pictures are revealed, they’ll shine light on the greatest Word—the Word of God—the Bible!
Sunday School
Becker Baptist Church invites kids to join us for Sunday School on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15 am from September 2025 to May 2026. There is no cost for this program. Ages 2 – 2nd grade will use the AWANA curriculum (with nursery care available), while 3rd – 5th graders will use Lifeway’s Explore the Bible curriculum.
Puggles is geared to toddlers ages 2-3 (in the Nursery, room #224/225).
The Puggles curriculum focuses on 4 main concepts:
Unit 1 – God Made Everything
Unit 2 – God Saw That It Was Good
Unit 3 – God Is Love
Unit 4 – Give Thanks
Cubbies is for preschoolers ages 4-5 (room #123).
The Cubbies program celebrates the spiritual potential of preschoolers by helping them develop respect for God, His Son, and His Word. Lessons (called Bear Hugs) include memory verses, Bible lessons, and activities that teach basic core truths about God, Jesus, and salvation.
Sparks is for kids in Kindergarten to 2nd grade (room #125).
This program ignites the curiosity of kids to learn about the people and events of the Bible, building a foundation of wisdom for knowing Christ. Lessons include stories, Bible memory verses, and simple discipleship activities.
Explore the Bible is a new curriculum at BBC and will be used for our 3rd – 5th graders in place of the AWANA curriculum (room #218 aka “library”).
This curriculum is created by Lifeway and will help kids read and study God’s word book by book in a way that is fun, age-appropriate, and sustainable for a lifetime. Kids will unpack the transforming truth of God as they look at the biblical and historical context of Scripture.
IMAGO KIDS After-School
Wednesdays, 3-5pm
Becker Baptist Church (BBC) invites children in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade to join us on Wednesday afternoons during the school year. Each week we will begin with snack time and end with Bible Story time. In between, the kids have a choice of activities, including art, board games, active games, drama, and a quiet room for reading.

We know that if we want to be effective, we need to be really serious about investing in and empowering the volunteers we lead. When we do that, we multiply our influence, increase the capacity of our ministry, and give kids a better shot at building a lifelong faith. Research shows that young people need not just one pastor, but a community of adults who are all investing in them and in their faith. So, we know it’s important to invest in your first so that you can better invest in kids.
