Haitian Hustle 5K

August 18, 2021

In August 2021, families from BBC participated in the “Haitian Hustle”, a 5K Fun Run to raise funds for Grace Emmanuel School that is part of Jesus in Haiti Ministries. This year, Becker’s Haitian Hustle raised nearly $20,000. The money raised will more than cover the cost to send the teenagers from the Lighthouse Children’s Home to school this year. It also provides the majority of school year start-up costs like new textbooks for 375 students at Grace Emmanuel School, and helps support young adults on scholarship to local universities and trade schools in Haiti.

Recent Missions Trips

In recent years, we have had several mission teams go out, and bring back amazing stories of advancing His Kingdom.

South Carolina – Youth Mission Trip

In June 2021, we traveled to Charleston, South Carolina for A Week of Home – Community Service Trip. We heard stories from people and served alongside others at some amazing organizations that help the elderly and assist low-income families. We served in multiple ways including working at a Food Bank that feeds 10 counties, helped a church revitalize a community garden that helps feed low-income families and the elderly. We did street ministry. We provided food, water, prayer, and the gospel to all those we came in contact with on the streets.

Northwest Angle Mission Trip

BBC has been sending teams of youth and adults to the Northwest Angle through multiple border crossings and a boat ride across part of Lake of the Woods in recent years to share Bible stories and interact with First Nation children on a reservation.

Haiti Mission Trip

BBC has partnered with Jesus in Haiti Ministries (JiHM) to love the children and work on numerous building projects. Led by BBC member & JiHM staff person, Kristi Bucher and her husband, Pastor Nate.
